STATES OF MIND - Brussels

The exhibition, held at Cityscape - a gigantic structure of tangled wood sitting in the heart of Brussels’ luxurious district – opens to the public from October 24 continuing to November 1. The exhibition will open in collaboration with Modo Bruxella, which will host a ‘Designers Trail’ on October 24 and 25, where artists and designers open their doors for the public to peak backstage.

The inspiration behind the ‘States of Mind’ exhibition is to examine existing representations of iconic America, which is achieved through the visual expressions of seven talented, young photographers. Their interpretations of American iconography are presented through the juxtaposition of images in their work.

The photographers: Dustin Askland, Dylan Chatain, Tim Davis, Melanie Enzig, Gus Powell, Jonathan Quinn and Christina Seeley have all been exclusively selected by curator Elena Bordignon, an expert in photographic art and talent scout for young artists.

Previous TH INSIDE exhibitors have gone on to achieve international acclaim, such as Alec Soth, who is now working with the Gagosian Gallery and Magnum, Kevin Cooley, whose work has been bought by the Guggenheim Museum in New York, Tanyth Berkley who had a solo exhibition at the MOMA in September ’07, Tim Barber who was appointed one of four curators of the first New York Photo Festival, Slater Bradley who had an exhibition in the project room at the Witney and Roe Ethridge who was included in the most recent Witney Biennale.
